Part V — Build the First Accountability Unit
The earlier parts of this book separated tool activity from operating change. They showed why work, organizational memory, human judgment, and decision rights have to change together. This final part turns that argument into a practical sequence.
Do not begin by redrawing the organization chart. Begin with one result that already matters to the business. Protect the live operation, test a different way of delivering that result, retain what the test teaches, and turn that learning into a method another team can use. Only then can the organization see the form that the new work requires.
Chapter 14 explains why the first move should be a bounded parallel pilot, not either a sandbox or an enterprise-wide rollout. Chapter 15 shows how a pilot becomes a repeatable capability. Chapter 16 defines the accountability unit and the firm-level architecture that lets many such units work together without dispersing responsibility.
